Ever ask yourself "Why Me?" Seems like everyone around you is having a better day, a better life. Why not you?
Life is full of ups and downs, and we all go through tough times that make us ask, "Why me?" These struggles can shake our confidence and faith. It’s natural to focus on the pain in the moment, but what if we looked at it differently? What if challenges aren’t punishments, but signs that we’re ready to grow? That’s why we’re here—to learn. The truth is, we’ll never feel fully prepared, and the biggest life lessons will shake us to our core.
Most people see a good day as one where they can relax and escape life’s troubles, while a bad day is when struggles feel overwhelming. But this mindset can lead to fear and anxiety. Instead, try looking at every experience—good or bad—as an opportunity to learn and grow. Challenges aren’t meant to break you; they’re meant to make you stronger. You are never alone.
To God, a good day is when we reflect on our struggles, learn from them, and use that wisdom to help others. A kind word, a small act of service—these moments, shaped by our past experiences, make for a truly great day. And when we let Christ’s Atonement lift our burdens, we find peace.
A bad day isn’t just about hardship—it’s when we get lost in distractions, avoid facing our struggles, and try to carry our burdens alone. But with God and Jesus Christ, no trial has to be faced in isolation. Just ask.
Every trial we face is part of a greater battle—one that began before time itself. When the weight of hardship presses down, we have two choices: to give in to doubt and the world’s distorted view of self-worth, or to remember who we truly are. Satan can influence the hearts of men, but not the children of God—and the only thing separating the two is a single thought. I am a child of God.
The truth is, we are all God’s children. Satan works tirelessly to make us forget that, using distractions, self-doubt, and guilt to cloud our minds and weaken our spirits. He wants us to feel lost and unworthy. But God’s plan is different. He gives us free will, not to watch us fail, but to help us learn and grow from our mistakes. Each trial is a chance to remember who we are, to choose faith over fear, and to move forward with Him. Keep moving forward.
Before coming to earth, we may have even chosen many of our life’s challenges—like picking courses in school. Some of them turn out to be harder than we expected, but we’re here to learn, grow, and become more like our Heavenly Father. Our purpose is to develop true, empathetic love and to serve others—this is the path to lasting happiness. Jesus Christ showed us the way, laying out the perfect blueprint for a meaningful life. Our path home.
We aren’t just here to live for today but to prepare for eternity in Heaven. We’ve already graduated from spiritual preschool—just receiving an earthly body was a milestone! So, great job, everyone! Earth is simply our Kindergarten class, and we’re here to learn step by step, with God guiding us along the way. Just ask.
Life’s hardships—whether sickness, a car accident, financial struggles, or even losing a job—can leave us questioning why we have to endure so much. But these trials often shape us in ways we don’t expect. Illness teaches hope and inner strength. Surviving a crash reminds us how precious life is. Poverty fosters humility and gratitude. Even job loss, though devastating, can open doors to unexpected and more fulfilling opportunities.
In every challenge, we learn resilience, adaptability, and faith. No matter what you’ve been through, you are still here. It could have been worse. And by learning and growing from our struggles, we are doing exactly what God intended.
Sometimes, the worst does happen. God allows us to face more than we can handle on our own. We don’t always understand why, but our part is to do our best in faith and trust Him with the rest, keeping an eternal perspective. The pain we go through isn’t pointless; it helps us grow. In these hard times, it’s important to focus on gratitude, the support of others, and leaning on God’s love. You are never alone.
When we ask, "Why me?", it’s helpful to remember that God allows us to experience pain so we can learn from it. Our struggles teach us gratitude, humility, and remind us how precious life is. They help us appreciate the good moments. God’s mercy often shields us from even greater suffering, and through each trial, we become stronger and wiser. It might take a day or a lifetime, but that’s why we’re here—to learn. Every day of learning from trials is a good day to God. Look for someone to help from what you learned today, and you convert a good day into a great day!

The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.
